Aldro Preparatory School

Godalming

Overview

Aldro is an independent day and boarding preparatory school in Shackleford, near Godalming, Surrey, England. It caters for about 240 boys between the ages of 7 and 13.

The project was the construction of a new sports hall within the grounds of the school. The site is located within the green belt and the village conservation area which required the architects to create a design that responded to its location on the boundary of the village between the built environment and the rural landscape.

The school remained a live environment throughout the course of the project. This required Feltham Construction to carefully plan all deliveries and vehicle movements to avoid busy times for the school as well as allow the school to remain fully operational throughout the duration of the works.
