The Royal Opening: Oaksey House, The Injured Jockeys Fund in Lambourn, Berkshire


HRH the Royal Princess, Patron of the Injured Jockeys Fund opened the newly renovated and improved Oaksey House, yesterday afternoon (20th Feb), which provides rehabilitation and fitness facilities for all Jockeys, riding, retired or injured, also in attendance were Chairman Brough Scott (MBE) & President Sir Anthony McCoy OBE.
The works included the installation of a new high quality, state of the art hydrotherapy pool accompanying the new and improved treatment rooms and changing amenities. Relocation of the first floor function room, to ground level, allowed a wider space for the gym and fitness equipment.

Sir Anthony McCoy, President of the Injured Jockeys Fund said
:"I am delighted to be here today and that the Injured Jockeys Fund is able to now provide these amazing facilities for jockeys both injured and riding. If I'd had this 20 years ago, I'd probably still be going now!"

The Injured Jockeys website news article explains “The refurbishment work took approximately four months and was carried about by a Newbury based company, Feltham Construction and designed by architect Nick Silcock at Townscape.
